Sarah Johnston. They had 12 children(not much else to do in those days,I guess!).One of

Great site! I came looking for Rebecca Potts, my ggggrandmother. 29 April 1789 in Rowan
Co., North Carolina, she married Benjamin Gilpin (b. 1762 Fairfax Co, VA, d. 24 April
1840, Fayette Co., Alabama); ten children: Richmond Gilpin (1790), William Gilpin (1792),
Elizabeth Gilpin, Mary Gilpin (1796)(my gggrandmother and spouse of William Samuel

Iam trying to find my mothers family . Her fathers name was Albert Jackson Potts ,born
feb. 18,1919 . He was married to Irene Sue Huff on Dec.28,1938 .He died about 37 years ago
in a truck accident . His mother and brother died about 1920 from influenza or amonia ?.
His older brother died of Polio . He also had a younger brother named Clayton ,plus two
older sisters named Ruby and Bertha . I think his fathers name was Rufus. When he died he
was working for a trucking company called Kaplan trucking..It happened somewhere in the
mountains of Penn.. The cause of the accident was a steer tire blew .. It was in the paper
. This is all I have found of information pertaining to my grandfather.. Thank you for

I am descended from Captain Francis Cecil Gallini, whose wife was Mary Bayly, said to
be the sister of the 1st Earl of Uxbridge. The 1st Earl of Uxbridge was, from the dates
involved, presumably Henry Bayly, 9th Baron Paget, and 1st (2nd creation) Earl of
Uxbridge, and great great grandson of the Right Rev'd Lewis Bayly.
The Right Rev'd Lewis Bayly is included in the Potts Family Tree Data Base, as well as
his great great grandson Nicholas Bayly, but Mary Bayly is not. Does anyone have any
information about her, or know of a source where such information may be found.

today - the people you describe are my grandfather (the POW), Leslie Roy Langmead, my
father (the architect), Oliver Leslie Langmead, and my uncle (the Baptist minister),
Oswald Roy Langmead! Also my brothers, (born in Albury), Ross and Leslie Langmead,
and other brothers (born in Hong Kong), Howard and Peter Langmead. I was Jeanette
Langmead, now married to Peter Woods, living in Melbourne. My husband is an Anglican
minister, so the links go on! It would be fantastic to set up a Langmead page and I

Congratulations on your efforts.
Just a bit about my family.
My family (my parents Lancelot and Emelia, sister Blossom, and two brothers Leon and
Bruce) reside in the UK in the London area. My father, and my uncles Valentine, Lenoard,
John and Conrad were born in India, as was (possibly) my grandfather Aloysius. This
particular group of the Potts family I believe came out
from England (possibly from the Newcastle area) in the late 19th Century, and worked on
the Indian Railways where Aloysius was a rail engineer. The family returned to
England in 1950, though Lenoard subsquently migrated to Australia.
Are there any other Potts's out there who know about us?
Please let me know.

I found this site several months ago. I am doing research on the John Potts
family who was my great grandfather. He lived in Southern Iowa and was married
to Anne Kaufmann he had four sons John Jr, Dal, Seigal and Sherman Sheridan. Sherman
was my grandfather he married Ethel Beebe and all 11 of their children was born in Bluff
City, Kansas, I think they were raised there also and maybe Ponca City, Oklahoma. If

grandfather and realitives in Loudoun County Virginia. This is what I know:
My dad is Jerry Arthur Potts who was born 06-01-1932 in Continental, Ohio. My granfather
is Ivan Charles Potts who was born in Mechnicsburg, Ohio 11-18-1901. My great grandfather
is Levi Randolf Potts who was born in Loudoun County Virginia 01-29-1861. My great
great grandfather was John Potts who I beleive was born in Loudoun County, Virginia. He

Hi Jason, very impressive especially to someone just starting out. My grandfather was
Philip Arthur Potts b.7/31/1903 in Long Island or Brooklyn Ny.He had a twin Joseph
who died at a very young age.He also had brothers Jack,James and Ephraim and sisters
Fanny,Alice and Marion.We believe they all came to the states from England but do not
where in England they came from.His parents names were Amelia Holmes and James(maybe).His

Very nicely done.
Interested in your Lynas names. My pre-Revolutionary grandparents were Thomas and Jane
Lynas, or Linas. They were in Chester County, Pa. about 1736-1741. We have not been able
to locate much about them. Their daughter, Violet Linus married Thomas Hill at Newgarden
MM, Chester Co, Pa. in 1741 but by 1746, they along with Thomas Linus and John Linus were
in Virginia.

Jason, your site is ttoPs, with plenty of oPtts and places to sttoP. Found your
site whilst looking for Langmeads on 12 Feb 1998. I'm thinking of doing something a little
less ambitious than your site for Langmeads, as those I have contacted are quite
enthusiastic. One of the Langmeads there was a POW from 1916-1918 in the First World
War, who was also an architect and ultimately a Baptist minister. My great uncle Edwin was
a prisoner of the Japanese in the notorious Burmese camps in the Second World War, but
that experience drove him into banking rather than the ministry. I don't have any direct
links with this branch of the Langmeads that I know of, but interestingly their first
children were born in Albury NSW, which is where I moved to before going overseas, and
they also moved overseas, as their later kids were born in Hong Kong. Final coincidence,
both my father and I are architects, but haven't yet been either POW's or called up for
the ministry or banking.
Good site, hope you don't mind the long message, but maybe some Langmeads will find it
- if so, please get in touch.
