    William was born in 1905 and Married Alice McClane or Rochester,NY. We believe Williams mother to have been Ada Helena Stapley aka Addie. His father was Alexander Potts.

    Our Job POTTS was born in Melbourne (Derby), England. He married Catherine Howitt ~1860, she was born in Buckminster (Leicester), England. Their son John "Edwin" Potts, born in Burton on Trent, (Staffs), England, arrived in Canada, about 1883. He married Victoria Bisnaw (Bazinet), a French-Canadian girl. Edwin and Victoria moved to Lowell, Massachusetts in 1888. Then in 1890 they (and 5 of the Bisnaw brothers) moved to East Boston, Massachusetts in 1890. Edwin then assumed his birth name of John, and became a Carpenter Union Boss, and helped build Harvard College around 1910.

  • SAMUEL POTTS FAMILY
    Samuel Potts was the son of Jonathan Potts and Elizabeth English. He was born May 2, 1893 and died August 31, 1867. He was married to Elizabeth Barnes on March 29, 1825 at New Jefferson, Harrison, Ohio. She was born to Thomas and Mary Barnes in 1799 in either Maryland or Virginia and died March 17, 1873 in Jefferson, Harrison County, Ohio. Samuel and Elizabeth ran an hotel. He being the Uncle of my ancestress, Lydia Bolen, wrote a lovely letter to her on the merits of being a good wife in 1866. I have that original letter.

    Hugh McClelland Potts, born March 16, 1865 at Ballybay, Co., Monaghan, Ireland, .m..March 9, 1893, Jane Branyan (see Branyan, II.) , born November 26, 1869. He came to America at age 14. He died on April 1, 1943. His wife Jane, died at Philadelphia, Penna., on March 12, 1912. Jane and Hannah died in Phila. during an epidemic. Hugh and Jane had 4 children;
